Ready to volunteer?
Family Promise is a community response to homelessness. As a result of mobilizing community volunteers and partnering with other organizations, we are able to reduce the overhead costs associated with our operations in order to direct more funds to client programming and services.
As a volunteer, you can directly help families who are experiencing homelessness through a number of avenues. While the majority of our volunteers are members of our partner faith-based congregations, we also have many who are βat large,β who discovered FPA through word-of-mouth, in a class or civic organization, or online.
Opportunities include providing meals, in-kind donations, physical labor, administrative tasks, childcare, and more. To start the process, please complete the volunteer interest form below. From there, you will be added to an email list that is specifically related to the types of volunteer activities you are requesting. As opportunities become available, you will receive an email with the event specific information and the instructions on how to sign up to help.
Internships
Family Promise of Athens typically has several interns working in our offices, primarily focused on case management and client programming. If you are interested in a social work internship, check this site or social media for application openings.
Social Work Interns
Social Work Interns work under the supervision of our Program team, including two masters level social workers. We accept Fall, Spring, and Summer interns. The internships are unpaid, but we can provide class supervision. Check the website and social media pages for announcements on internship applications.
